Shoutout to UEA weekend. #todaysreallythursday
It was super fun to shoot in manual mode! We had to force ourselves to think creatively rather than just noticing something. When we got an idea, we knew what we needed to do. I love having to think about shooting that much; it feels more accomplishing.
SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD LONG EXPOSURE DEEP DEPTH OF FIELD Today I learned that while shooting in manual mode, and depending on the picture that i want to take, I prioritize shutter, ISO, and aperture. I love how shooting in manual really makes you think about what you're doing. It really puts my skills to the test.
DEFINITION: How long the shutter is open HOW IT'S MEASURED: Relative to seconds (fractions or whole) FAST: 1/4000 seconds SLOW: 3.5 seconds HOW IT AFFECTS MOTION: Fast shutter stops motion and slow shutter allows motion to be captured MODES: Manual, Sports, Shutter Priority Slow ShutterFast ShutterBACKGROUND Focus is in the back of the picture. MIDGROUND Focus is in the middle of the picture. FOREGROUND
Focus is in the front of the picture. I had a great time shooting macro photos! Our eyes naturally focus like the macro setting would, which makes a macro picture automatically pleasing to the eye. One thing that I also love about macro is that with the right angle, and depth of field, you can make anything look neat.
Aperture: An opening, hole, or gap Aperture is measured with F-stops. The larger the F-stop number, the smaller the hole. The smaller the hole, the larger depth of field (landscape). The bigger the hole, the smaller depth of field (macro). Depth of field is what is in focus. If it has a large depth of field, everything is in focus. Whereas shallow depth of field mainly has a subject in focus. Large Depth of Field: Landscape, Manual Shallow Depth of Field: Av Priority, Macro, Manual, Portrait LARGE DEPTH OF FIELD SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD

"The only photographer you that you should compare yourself to is the one you used to be."
I think that as a photographer, I can admire others pictures, but I can't worry about them. There is no reason to compare. All I want to focus on are my capabilities. It literally doesn't help me at all if "so and so" took a great picture using "this technique." All that matters is if I improve myself so that I can use "that technique." |
